Al Franken is coming to dinner, because, doggonit, people like him. The newly-Minnesota Supreme Court-approved U.S. Senator will be Iowa Senator Tom Harkin's guest at his annual steak fry September 13th. Franken follows previous guests like Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Apparently, Harkin staffers were sitting on the dinner guest for a while we all waited for the million recounts and delays that came before Franken's official final victory confirmation over incumbent Senator Norm Coleman.
