Register to Lay Off More Employees

Gannett announced it is slashing another 1,400 jobs. And The Des Moines Register reports it will be hit again.

The company already cut about 10% of workers last year and forced employees to take two weeks of furloughs this year. The "good news" in the announcement is a company official said it wouldn't ask for any more furloughs this year.

Register reporter, Daniel Finney, sent out a message on Facebook this afternoon wondering his fate. He got laid off last year and got rehired a few months later. Here's his message. Good luck, Daniel.

Here we go again. Job cut victim in January 2008, our man Finney was rehired in June that year. He's survived two job cuts (and two furloughs) since then. Can our hero make it three out of four? Tune in July 9 for the answer.
