Steve Rathje for Congress

Steve Rathje is apparently thinking about trying again to make his way to Congress. Rathje failed to win the Republican primary last year to earn the right to take on Tom Harkin for his U.S. Senate seat. Rathje confirmed to me he is forming an explorating committee to look at running for the 2nd Congressional District seat currently held by Democrat Dave Loebsack. I remember Rathje as the one Republican candidate who declined to appear in the Polk County Republicans' senate primary debate last year on Iowa Public TV that was televised statewide.

This week Rathje sent out this message to friends on the Facebook website:

We've formed the exploratory committee and I am focused on brininging you the most useful information that I can to ensure that you are the most informed voter you can be.Please take a moment to join my website: www.steverathje.comMake a contribution if you can.

By the way, I went to www.steverathje.com. It didn't say anything about which race Rathje was considering. Only after did he email me back that I realized it was the 2nd Congressional District.

Aren't you going to print the entire story? or just enough to make your Candidate look good? but that's the way you liberals do it, isn't it?

Are you willing to go on record that you and your candidate support the current Administration and the gigantic mockery he's making of the country? simple yes or no will suffice.

and no, I'm not employed by SR or working for a campaign. I'm a conservative who thinks you're an ass and happens to know the entire story behind the Senate race. if YOU were a credible journalist, you wouldn't be writing for a shitty blog, you'd be in DC doing something credible with your time. but really, answer my question.

Geez ya crazy.

Hey Dave, I'm a conservative too who thinks you're awesome. Keep up the good work.

crazy? or interested in why no one is talking about the special interest groups that got in the way???

and the candidate that spent his campaign money on bling and clothing??

Dear Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous (it's difficult to be more specific, since you failed to include your name instead of just using an "anonymous" posting),

I have no idea what you are talking about? Who is my "Candidate"? Also, what is the entire story behind the senate race? The only story I know is that Mr. Rathje lost in the Repubublican primary. Was there some other result with with I am not familiar? It's unfortunate you consider this such a bad blog. I can't help but wonder why you would read it then. Perhaps, that's a question for you to answer.

Thanks for your comments,
Dave

I remember this story - Reed didn't raise money but what he did raise he spent on a car, clothes and things that were considered illegal expenses. It's been a few years but if memory serves, he paid a fine and got in trouble/w the State or/w someone, didn't he?

Did I hear rumors that this genius is running again? what, he thinks the people have forgotten already? or does he think since Obama and everyone in Congress is ripping off the people we won't mind if he jumps on the wagon too?
