BBQ Battle

As if the Brownback/Romney battle isn't heating up enough on its own, now this...a battle over BBQ. Brownback will have Famous Dave's cater his straw poll tent in Ames next month.

Romney is using Hickory Park. Bring your wet wipes.

Romney should serve flapjacks (pancakes) at the Ames straw poll in August. This would be a good example of his recent flip-flopping on the sex education issue. Romney accused Senator Barack Obama of wanting to teach sex education to kindergarteners. Romney's assertion were misleading and cheap partisan politics.

Romney himself had held the same position on sex education in 2002. As a candidate for governor that year, Romney had checked a box on a Planned Parenthood questionnaire saying he supported age-appropriate sex education in public schools.

I believe Romney has been snorting too much baking powder as of late. Governor Romney continue flipping the pancakes and Governor Dean please pass the maple syrup.

Did anyone know that Obama's staffer Derrick Johnson was
arrested on a warrant out of IL at the airport on Friday? AND last night a
judge in IL magically took care of the warrant and ordered the Polk
County Jail to release the subject without any bond or charges. They just
released him because the judge stated that everything had previously
been taken care of. So basically Obama's campaign has a judge on board
and released him without any penelty. He was set free last night. WOW.
Aggrivated battery and set free!!!

pretty serious charge from someone who posts anonymously...

WOW! Is someone looking into this allegation? regardless of how it is posted or by whom... it is something that should be looked into. I would believe it!

Maybe Anonymous (Hillary Clinton supporter) would like to attend the straw poll with Mitt Romney and have some flapjacks. I agree that anonymous is making very serious allegations. What is your source anonymous?

Heads-Up: The March To ReEnergize Iowa is from August 2nd - 5th. For more information please visit www.climatesummer.org There is word that Senator Edwards, Senator Dodd, and Governor Richardson were very interested in marching and may or may not attend.

I heard from my brother who is a jail employee. He is no longer in custody... that can be viewed on the county website. And I am certainly not a clinton supporter. No matter which side of the political fence this came from... it is wrong.

How do you know the Obama campaign has a judge on board? Is it OK for your brother to release confidential information to you to post on the Web. Again, these are very serious allegations to post on the web anonymously in several different locations.

I dont know... and I dont know anything else... but it is worth someone checking into! The jail website showed he was not in custody on Saturday.

Is it possible that the Obama thing was legitimately cleared up? It is very serious for both you and your brother to post these accusations without knowing the full facts. Although slander is common, it is not pretty. Aren't we better than than in Iowa?

It isnt slander. Maybe a rumor. It is doubtful it was cleared up so fast. I just think someone should look into it. If it is false, then so be it. If it is true... well then I dont know.

Sorry...not slander....I should have said libel.

"slander (harmful statement in a transitory form, especially speech) and libel (harmful statement in a fixed medium, especially writing but also a picture, sign, or electronic broadcast), each of which gives a common law right of action."

It might be true, but unless you know for sure, I would be careful of getting yourself and/or your brother into trouble.

It's unfortunate that Mitt Romney must wage a negative campaign attacking other candidates. Romney refuses to run on his own record. He attacks candidates for positions he once held - sex education in elementary schools, same sex marriage, pro-choice advocate, immigration reform, etc..
