Boswell's Race Downgraded

In yet another sign that some of the national observers think 2010 could be a tough one for incumbents, and specifically Democrats, Congressional Quarterly has knocked down Des Moines area Congressman Leonard Boswell a notch in his re-election efforts next year. Boswell is still favored, by the way. But a trio of Republicans is now planning on running for the right to take on the Boz: aviation consultant Dave Funk, State Senator Brad Zaun and former Iowa State coach/wrestler Jim Gibbons.

ETC...

Is your office gossip central? A new study says a little gossip may not be as bad as the bosses think. Not that I'm one to gossip about it, of course.

Senator Brad Zaun is clearly head and sholders above the other republican candidates....he has terrific experience in office (the others have none) and is certainly a candidate that can give Boswell big trouble. Big kudos for Zaun getting in the race.....

Lets be honest....Boswell has not accomplished much in the decades he has held office, and lately he seems more and more confused about things. It is time for a change. I am not a republican, but I have met Zaun, and he at least seems to speak honestly. I miss that lately.

Hey you forgot Pat Betroche, not that he stands much of a chance in the primary.

"Head and shoulders?!" I hope you are referring to his height because Brad Zaun is one of the least impressive legislators I have ever run across. He may have served, but I can't think of a single thing he has accomplished while there. I think Gibbons will egde him out and then knock off Boswell.
