Before I ever got the chance to use the line..."Mauro's ready to go toe-to-toe with Allison for Secretary of State"...the republicans stub their toe (yeah, I know).
Allison says he's dropping out for "personal reasons." Now repubs have to find a new candidate.
Bob Dopf--Allison beat him in the primary. He's interested. His website still works.
www.voteiowa06.com.
Paul Pate--He had the job already. He said he'll think it over this weekend.
For those of you who don't believe Fallon is NOT a candidate for governor this fall, you might want to check out the email I just received from his peeps. It's his elex day schedule...well, it's his sked for the June elex. Hop into your flux capacitor and go seem him (again).

Any inside information on what the personal reason is for him dropping out???
Does Fallon remind you a little bit of Kucinich? Some good ideas, but a little too far out there for people to take him seriously.
What do you mean about him dropping out? Do you mean why he isn't running as an Independent?
Dave,
You should have also (moments later) received the correct update with information about an upcoming meeting Berkley Bedell is hosting to talk about campaign finance reform.
In the transition from pre- to post- primary election (and the obvious downsizing in staff) -- I'm doing the updates and initially chose the wrong message. I caught it.....after it was zipping through cyberspace....about the time it had gone through the letter "D" in the media list. Sorry for the error. And sorry to kill potentially delicious rumors with such a mundane explanation.
Lynn,
Thanks for the message. My post was all in good fun, of course. I'm disappointed you're killing the rumors of another Fallon run :)
Sorry, what I meant was, why did Allison drop out. What were the personal reasons?
