The invites have already gone out...First Lady Laura Bush is coming to Des Moines. She'll do a fundraiser/luncheon for Jeff Lamberti at the Wakonda Club next Thursday. The visit adds to what's already been a television advertising blitz for Lamberti right now as he tries to overtake Leonard Boswell for his Congressional seat.
I see New York Gov. George Pataki is setting up "shop" in Des Moines. He says he won't seek another Gov. term but might take a run at the Republican pres. nom.???

ReplyDeleteDoesn't a Pataki run spell bad news for Rudy G.? One would think the republicans (not bashing...this is coming from an Independent)would have their act together - seems to me that a Pataki and Giuliani would split votes within their home state, within the party, etc.
